Gateway International Company History
Gateway International was established in 1992 as a working partnership between Toronto and Hong Kong based companies, joining to introduce a new range of imported ready to wear (casual and career) products to the Canadian marketplace. Opening sales, marketing, and distribution offices in Mississauga, Ontario, in May of that same year, Gateway quickly established its reputation as a reliable source for high quality, competitively priced imported apparel, successfully penetrating both the mainstream retail and wholesale / distributor markets in its’ first eighteen months of operation. Pressed for space and recognizing the need to move “closer” to its’ source of production, Gateway re-located company operations to the lower mainland area of British Columbia in June of 1995, where it has remained ever since.
In September of 2003, after enjoying eleven consecutive years of growth in the Canadian market, Gateway aggressively expanded its operations into the US, adding seamless apparel (intimates, active, ready to wear) and swimwear to its lineup of “products offered”. Since then, Gateway has continued to enjoy steady growth on both sides of the border, achieved in large measure through the Company’s ongoing commitment to provide only the highest possible quality of service, value and product(s) to its clientele.
